Season 29
The World of Eva Luna
It takes two productions to tell the full tale.
Echo Theatre’s 29th season, The World of Eva Luna, invites audiences into the richly imagined universe of internationally celebrated author Isabel Allende through two connected theatrical works.
In November, Echo and Teatro Dallas will join forces for the regional premiere of Eva Luna, adapted from Allende’s celebrated novel by award-winning playwright Caridad Svich.

Eva Luna will be staged at Teatro Dallas’ home, the
Latino Cultural Center
whose larger space accommodates the scale of the co-production.
This fall, Echo presents a workshop presentation of The Stories of Eva Luna, Stephanie Oustalet’s adaptation of Allende’s follow up novel full of haunting short stories, leading to a full production in spring 2027.
Together, the productions reveal storytelling as an act of survival and transformation—a way to preserve identity, reclaim agency, and imagine a life beyond the limits others impose.

Lectures, panels, and special events throughout the season will invite audiences deeper into Allende’s writing and the cultural, historical, and political worlds that shape it.
